3779791 - Error When Saving Signal Code Due to Snippet Length Limit

Symptom

  • Unable to save snipped in Process Intelligence.
  • Error when saving SIGNAL code; error message shown: "Something went wrong"

Environment

  • Product: SAP Signavio Process Intelligence
  • Metrics for SAP Signavio Process Intelligence

Reproducing the Issue

Cause

The SIGNAL snippet exceeds the approximate 65,000-character limit for snippets saved in the application. Comments are included in this character count.

Resolution

  1. Reduce the total length of the SIGNAL logic so it is below approximately 65,000 characters. Remove or shorten comments and redundant code, as comments count toward the limit.
  2. Offload complex or lengthy logic (for example, custom calendar/holiday handling) to the data transformation layer or source system, and provide precomputed attributes to Process Intelligence.
  3. Save the metric again after applying the above adjustments.
