Symptom

Comments from the story are not visible when exported to PDF by a user with a custom role in SAC

Environment

SAP ANALYTICA CLOUD 2026.8.6

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Log in to the SAP Analytics Cloud tenant.
  2. Open a story that contains comments, using a user account with a custom role.
  3. Export the story to PDF format.

Notice : The comments are not visible in the exported PDF file

Cause

The custom role assigned to the user lacks the required 'Read' permission for the Comment object

Resolution

To resolve this issue, the 'Read' permission must be granted for the Comment object within the user's custom role. Please follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to Security > Roles in SAP Analytics Cloud.
  2. Open the specific custom role assigned to the affected user(s).
  3. Locate the Comment object within the role's permissions.
  4. Assign at least Read permission to the Comment object.
  5. Click Save to apply the changes to the role.
