3780232 - Time Account Creation Error: "external code is required"

• An error occurs when creating an time account manually.
• Error message: "External Code is required."
• The External Code field on the Time Account object is configured as read only and mandatory, preventing manual input.
• The system is expected to generate the External Code automatically during manual creation, but this does not happen.

• Time Management - Records & Objects

1. Go to Manage Data.
2. Select Create New and choose Time Account.
3. Enter the user id (the id).
4. Select the time account type (the relevant type).
5. Set Account Valid From and Account Valid Until dates.
6. Set Booking Possible From and Booking Possible Until dates.
7. Set Closed as need be.
8. Select a Posting Type (for example, Manual Adjustment).
9. Set a Posting Date.
10. Enter Amount Posted.
11. Select Posting Unit (for example, Hours).
12. Click Save.
13. Observe that the system returns the error related to the external code.

The External Code is not provided in the posting type details

1. Go to Manage Data.
2. Open the Posting Type that is used during manual time account creation.
3. In the Posting Type details, enter a value in the External Code field.
4. Save and confirm that the error no longer appears.
