3780372 - Is it possible to create Returns documents to custom sales documents? - SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Symptom

After creating a custom sales document in the Configure Standard Order Type configuration (CBC), the system does not allow the creation of a Customer Returns document with reference to that custom sales document.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Create a custom sales document in CBC using the configuration Configure Standard Order Type
  2. Go to VA01 and create a returns document for the custom document
  3. See that the system will not accept this and will trigger an error message

Cause

Missing functionality.

Resolution

As creating custom sales document types is a recently included functionality, it's available in a limited way, having its customization limited at the moment. For the responsible development team to understand the customer requirements, it's important to raise a feature request to showcase this business need.
