3780600 - "HTTP Status 415" error returned when "OAuth2 Client Credentials" is used as Authentication type for outbound communication

Symptom

  • Message processing in Cloud Integration fails with HTTP Status 415 when using Authentication type OAuth2 Client Credentials for outbound communication. 
  • Error example seen in message processing logs:
    com.google.common.util.concurrent.UncheckedExecutionException: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Status code:415; Reason:<html><head><title>Exception Report</title></head><body><br>HTTP Status 415 – </br></body></html>, cause: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Status code:415; Reason:<html><head><title>Exception Report</title></head><body><br>HTTP Status 415 – </br></body></html>
  •  OAuth2 Client Credentials are maintained under Monitor > Integrations and APIs > Manage Security > Security Material.
