3780660 - Successor insight results shows user missing competencies despite user having it in growth portfolio

• Successor Insights suggests a successor lacks competencies for the target role, even though the same competencies exist in the successor’s Growth Portfolio with high proficiency ratings.
• The generated text can state that no explicit strengths or alignment are identified and recommends developing skills and competencies directly relevant to the target position.

SAP SuccessFactors Succession Management 1H 2026 

1. Navigate to Succession Org Chart and select a position with mapped competencies/skills.
2. Generate Successor Insights for listed successors.
3. Observe that insights indicate missing or insufficient competencies/skills for a successor who has the same competencies/skills in Growth Portfolio with high ratings.

This is a Known Issue when below conditions are met: The name of the attribute type Competency and Skill is maintained as other custom labels, other than "Competency" and "Skill".

The fix for this issue is planned to be deployed on 2H 2026 release.

Workaround

Maintain the name of the attribute type Competency and Skill as "Competency" and "Skill", no custom labels. For non-US locales, also maintain it as "Competency" and "Skill" so the feature can work in non-US environment as well.
