3780719 - PI Count Task Not Created After Changing Identified Stock Type

A Physical Inventory Count task is not created automatically after changing the Identified Stock Type of a Material ID: ABC from Optional Specified Stock to Batch.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to Product Portfolio work center.
2. Go to By Materials subview under Products view.
3. Search for the Material ID: ABC.
4. Choose Edit.
5. Change the Identified Stock Type from Optional Specified Stock to Batch.
6. No automatic Physical Inventory count task is generated.

(ABC represents Material ID)

• As per the standard system design, automatic Physical Inventory count tasks are created only when the Serial Number Profile changes. 
• Changing the Identified Stock Type does not initiate automatic creation of Physical Inventory count tasks.

This is the standard system behavior.
