You want to retrieve and display PDF documents stored in an external file storage system to SAP Sales Cloud.

Typical scenarios include:

• Displaying PDF invoices in Sales Cloud.
• Displaying delivery notes generated in SAP ERP.
• Showing business document PDFs related to customers or business partners in a custom view.
• Retrieving documents stored in an external repository or file storage solution.

SAP Cloud for Customer

1. Business documents (for example, Invoices or Delivery Notes) are generated in SAP ERP.
2. These documents are created using SAPscript, Smart Forms, Adobe Forms, or similar technologies.
3. The generated PDF files are stored in SAP ERP or an external file storage system.
4. You want Sales Cloud to retrieve these documents and display them within a business object (for example, Business Partner, Sales quote, Sales order).

SAP Sales Cloud standard integration packages support replication of attachments only when they are transferred as part of supported business object messages (for example, Sales Orders, Sales Quotes, Debit Notes, etc.).

The standard integration content does not provide functionality to:

• Retrieve PDF documents from an external file storage system.
• Read documents directly from SAP ERP document repositories.
• Display externally stored PDF documents inside custom views or Business Partner screens in Sales Cloud.

This is not supported as part of the standard SAP Sales Cloud integration content.

There is no standard process or integration package that retrieves PDF documents stored in SAP ERP or an external file storage system and displays them within a custom view or Business Partner in Sales Cloud.

If this functionality is required, it must be implemented through a custom integration that retrieves the document from the external repository and exposes it to Sales Cloud using supported extensibility and integration capabilities.

Standard SAP integration only supports attachments that are explicitly replicated as part of supported business object messages; it does not provide a generic document retrieval mechanism for externally stored business documents.
