Symptom
- An info record is assigned in an external processing routing operation, but no value is transferred to the material cost estimate.
- When the info record is removed from the operation, the correct value is determined (for example, from the operation).
Environment
SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
Reproducing the Issue
- Assign a purchasing info record to an external processing operation in the routing/task list.
- Run a material cost estimate.
- Observe that no value is transferred from the info record to the cost estimate.
- Remove the info record from the external processing operation.
- Run the material cost estimate again.
- Observe that the value is now determined correctly (for example, from the operation).
Cause
‘Net Quotation Price’ is not maintained in the valuation strategies for External Processing.
‘Net Purchase Order Price’ is defined instead of ‘Net Quotation Price’. This causes the costing engine to not find a price for the external processing operation, since a purchase order does not exist.
Resolution
Maintain ‘Net Quotation Price’ in Define Valuation Variants per Plant (SSCUI 102608) for External Processing.
