3781138 - Unable to Display a Custom Confirmation Pop-up or Warning Message on the Workflow Approval Page in SAP SuccessFactors

Display a confirmation pop-up (for example, "Do you really want to approve?") when an approver clicks the Approve button in a workflow.

Display a non-editable warning/instruction message on the workflow approval page that is visible only to workflow approvers.

Hide the warning message from the employee profile and prevent employees from viewing it.

However, the system approves the workflow directly, and the above behavior cannot be configured.

Configure a workflow for an Employee Central transaction (for example, Separation).

1. Trigger the workflow.
2. Log in as the workflow approver.
3. Open the workflow from the To-Do list.
4. Click Approve.
5. Observe that the workflow is approved immediately without displaying a configurable confirmation pop-up.
6. Also observe that there is no standard configuration to display a non-editable warning message exclusively on the workflow approval page for approvers.

This is a system limitation. SAP SuccessFactors does not support:

Configuring a custom confirmation pop-up before workflow approval.

Displaying a non-editable informational or warning field only on the workflow approval page while hiding it from the employee profile.

This behavior is currently working as designed.

There is no standard configuration or supported feature to:

• Add a confirmation dialog before approving a workflow.
• Display an approver-only warning message on the workflow details page that is not visible elsewhere in Employee Central.

If this functionality is required, customers may submit an enhancement request through the SAP Customer Influence portal for future consideration.
