3781241 - SM00039 Not Working in S/4HANA Public Cloud – Use F4645 Instead

Symptom

When using the standard mashup SM00039 (S/4 HANA 360 Object Page) in SAP Cloud for Customer (C4C) to navigate to the customer profile from the Accounts page, the following error appears:

"App could not be opened either due to an incorrect SAP Fiori launchpad configuration or a missing role assignment." "Failed to resolve navigation target #Customer-displaySalesOverview?Customer=XXXXXXX&sap-language=EN. This is most likely caused by an incorrect SAP Fiori launchpad content configuration or by a missing role assignment."

This occurs in environments where the backend S/4HANA system is S/4HANA Public Cloud.

Environment

SAP Cloud for Customer (C4C) – All Versions
SAP Cloud for Customer Integration with SAP S/4HANA – All Versions
SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Log in to SAP Cloud for Customer (C4C)
  2. Navigate to the Accounts work center
  3. Open any Account record
  4. Locate the SM00039 – S/4 HANA 360 Object Page mashup on the Account screen
  5. Click on the mashup to launch the S/4HANA Customer 360 view
  6. Observe the following error message appears: 
"App could not be opened either due to an incorrect SAP Fiori launchpad configuration or a missing role assignment." "Failed to resolve navigation target #Customer-displaySalesOverview?Customer=XXXXXXX&sap-language=EN. This is most likely caused by an incorrect SAP Fiori launchpad content configuration or by a missing role assignment."

Cause

  • The standard mashup SM00039 (S/4 HANA 360 Object Page) uses the Fiori target mapping Customer-displaySalesOverview.
  • which is linked to F2187 – Customer 360° View. This app is not available in S/4HANA Public Cloud, it is only supported for Private Cloud and On-Premise deployments.
  • As a result, the navigation target #Customer-displaySalesOverview cannot be resolved in a Public Cloud environment.
  • Additionally, standard/pre-delivered mashups (prefixed SM) cannot be directly edited to change the underlying target mapping or URL.

Resolution

SM00039 cannot be used in S/4HANA Public Cloud as the underlying Fiori app F2187 – Customer 360° View is not available in this deployment type. As a resolution, create a custom URL mashup in C4C using F4645 – Customers Overview, which is available in S/4HANA Public Cloud and provides similar customer sales data.
