3781288 - Users are Unable to Respond to Feedback in non-Englsih (multi-byte) Locale

Symptom

When attempting to respond to feedback sent in non-English (multi-byte) language like Japanese/Chinese/Korean, an error occurs when trying to submit the response

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Continuous Performance Management

Reproducing the Issue

User accesses a request for feedback sent from a user.

Feedback request has a topic description with over 1333 non-English characters

Error occurs when submitting the response

  • "Operation failed because of errors"
  • "Invalid value for property"

Cause

Characters in these locales equate to 3 English characters in size (bytes), hence the character limit of 4000 is met when 1333 characters are entered in the "Description" for the feedback request.

Resolution

Known issue, to be fixed in the 2H 2026 release.
