3781799 - Maintenance Order not triggering budget availability control with WBS assigned in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Symptom

  • EAM Maintenance order not triggering budget availability control with WBS assigned.
  • While creating a maintenance order from the EAM/PM Module with WBS assigned, the Budget control is not checked during PR generation for both stock and non-stock items.
  • The system does not give an error of budget exceeded and proceeds with PR creation despite no budget on the WBS.
  • The functionality was available in the Rise with SAP system but is not working in GROW with SAP.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open the Display/Cancel Account Maintenance Document app.
  2. Select the corresponding Account Maintenance document.
  3. Choose Cancel/Reverse.
  4. Execute the reversal.

Resolution

  • In the public cloud system, for a purchase requisition or purchase order (PR/PO) with account assignment category Order and a Plant Maintenance Order (PMO) as the account assignment object, commitment creation is supported.
  • Budget availability control is not available for Plant Maintenance Orders in the public cloud. Find more details in the SAP Help Portal article Maintenance Management and Predictive Commitments.
  • In GROW with SAP, SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud software is used. In RISE with SAP, other software like SAP ECC is used. Because these are different code lines, budget availability control for Plant Maintenance Orders is available in RISE with SAP, but not in GROW with SAP.
  • There is no suitable API available for this functionality.
