3781991 - How to modify the assortment description when the field is greyed out (store assortment) in S/4HANA?

Symptom

  • The assortment description cannot be modified; the description field appears greyed out in maintenance.
  • When opening the assortment in transaction WSOA2, a popup appears: "Only limited processing possible for assortment ..." (Message No. WM496).
  • The popup explains that basic data, texts, and material group assignments cannot be changed in this transaction for assortments created via plant maintenance; only user assignments are allowed.
