3782296 - How to Take a Memory Snapshot

Symptom

You are experiencing slowness with SAP Sales Cloud and SAP Service Cloud Version 2 and need to take a Memory Snapshot for further analysis from the Technical Support side.

Environment

  • SAP Sales Cloud Version 2
  • SAP Service Cloud Version 2

Resolution

  1. Open the Memory ToolOpen your browser.
  2. Press F12 on your keyboard to open the Developer Tools.
  3. Select the Memory tab.
  4. Choose Heap Snapshot.
  5. Click the Clear Garbage button (the trash can icon at the top of the Memory tab).
  6. Click Take Snapshot.
  7. Wait for the snapshot to finish.The browser may become slow or temporarily unresponsive during this process; this is expected.
  8. Save the snapshot file.
  9. Repeat these steps 2 more time and .zip it.

Quick summary: Open F12 -> Memory -> Heap Snapshot -> Clear Garbage -> Take Snapshot. Create 3 snapshots following the steps above, save them, compress them into a .zip, and attach the file to the case.
