3782560 - Remove HTML tags from form review input not applied in table reports while story reports work - Performance Management

Symptom

  • “Remove HTML tags from form review input in Table and Story reports” does not remove HTML tags in Table reports.
  • HTML generated by rich text editors remains visible in Table report output, while Story reports display plain text.

Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors Performance Management
  • SAP SuccessFactors 360 Reviews

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Latest experience of Performance Management forms is enabled.
  2. Enter a comment on a Performance Management or 360 Review form.
  3. Run a Table report including the comment field and observe that HTML tags generated by the RTE are visible.
  4. Run a Story report including the same comment field and observe that HTML tags are hidden (plain text shown).

Cause

In the latest experience of Performance Management Forms, the HTML tag removal logic for Table reports is only triggered when the Rich Text Editor feature is also enabled. Enabling the removal setting alone is insufficient to activate the behavior in Table reports.

This is a known configuration dependency. It is recommended to treat these two settings as a paired configuration and verify both are enabled.

Resolution

  1. In Admin Center, open Performance Management Feature Settings.
  2. Enable “Rich text editor for PM/360”.
  3. Enable “Remove HTML tags from form review input in Table and Story reports”.
  4. Wait for the settings to propagate, then re-run Table and Story reports to confirm that HTML generated by the RTE is removed and plain text is shown.

Note:

  • The “Remove HTML tags…” setting removes HTML produced by the in-form rich text editor. If users paste content containing HTML from external editors, those tags may not be removed. To mitigate externally pasted HTML, consider enabling the relevant Application Security feature that removes unnecessary parts of rich text inputs.
  • If “Remove HTML tags from form review input in Table and Story reports” wasn't checked in the first place, verify again after some time as it may take a short while to reflect the change.
