3782674 - Add Button Missing in Custom MDF Field After Migrating to Latest People Profile

Symptom

After upgrading to the Latest People Profile, the Add button is no longer visible within a custom MDF (Metadata Framework) field/portlet.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the affected Employee Profile
  2. People profile
  3. Employment Profile
  4. Add Global Assignment 
  5. Add Company button missing compared to legacy people profile

Cause

Users are unable to add new records directly from the custom MDF section in the People Profile, although the records may still be accessible through other MDF maintenance pages such as Manage Data.

 

Resolution

This is expected behavior in the Latest People Profile. No further action is required, as the current behavior is working as designed.

The Add button was reverted to its original inline position after a design change caused issues with child records, specifically in scenarios involving repeated Add/Delete actions where the functionality did not behave as expected.

As a result, the standalone "+" (Add) button may no longer be displayed in certain custom MDF sections. To add a new record, use the available dropdown menu within the relevant section. For example, under Employment Profile, you can add a Company record through the dropdown menu rather than by selecting a separate "+" button.
