3782800 - Code Custom Field Marked as Searchable Does Not Return Results for Description Values

Symptom

After creating a custom field with the data format “Code” and marking it as searchable in Field Query Attributes, searching by the code’s description returns no results. Searches only succeed when using the code value itself. Example:
  • Code = Z01
  • Description = Blue
Searching for “Blue” returns no results, while searching for “Z01” works.
