3782822 - Prompt values update incorrectly after converting Classic story to Optimized Design Experience SAP Analytics Cloud

Symptom

  • Prompt values get updated incorrectly after converting a classic story to the optimized design experience.
  • A newly created optimized story that uses linked variables shows the same unexpected prompt value updates.
  • No error messages are displayed.

Environment

  • SAP Analytics Cloud 2026.8.16

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Log on to the tenant as a user and create a new optimized story.
  2. Add a table on Page 1 based on Model A.
  3. Add a new page with a table based on Model B.
  4. Open Edit Prompt and create two variable links: Link a variable from Model A (for example, “Variable A”) to a variable in Model C (for example, “Variable C”); Link a variable from Model B (for example, “Variable B”) to a different variable in Model C (for example, “Variable C_1”).
  5. Save the story.
  6. In Edit Prompt, select Model A and change the linked variable value.
  7. In Edit Prompt, select Model B and observe that its linked variable is also changed to the same value unexpectedly.

Cause

The issue is currently under investigation by the development.
