3783024 - eDocument South Korea: eDocument Cockpit Submit Fails with EDOCUMENT_KR038 'Error with Your Business Code'

When selecting Submit in eDocument Cockpit for South Korea e‑Tax Invoice, the submission fails.

• Error message: "Error with your business code"
• Message No.: EDOCUMENT_KR038
• Diagnosis: "You have a 3-character business code assigned by SmartBill. However, the business code configured in the system doesn't meet the 3-character length requirement."

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Open the eDocument Cockpit.
2. Search for the target eDocument.
3. Choose Submit.
4. Observe the error "Error with your business code".
5. Double-click the error to view Message No. EDOCUMENT_KR038 and the diagnosis text.

The system retrieves the business code by looking up the VAT Registration Number of the Business Place as a key against the Tax Number 2 field in the ASP_BUSINESS_CODE value mapping (namespace /EDOKR).

If the two values do not match exactly, the lookup returns an empty result. An empty value does not satisfy the 3-character length requirement for the business code, which triggers error EDOCUMENT_KR038.

The mismatch can occur in either direction: the Tax Number 2 in the value mapping was not maintained with the correct VAT Registration Number of the Business Place, or the Tax Number 2 in the Business Place configuration (Define Business Place for South Korea, SSCUI ID: 104040) was not maintained correctly so it no longer corresponds to the value in the value mapping.

Please follow the steps below to resolve the issue:

1. In your configuration environment, use the search function to open the Define Business Place for South Korea configuration activity (SSCUI ID: 104040).
   1. Enter your company code.
   2. Select the relevant business place. Choose Details.
   3. Note the value in the Tax Number 2 field. This is the VAT Registration Number of your business place.
2. Open the Configure Value Mapping app.
   1. Enter namespace /EDOKR and value mapping name ASP_BUSINESS_CODE. Choose Run.
   2. Switch to change mode.
   3. In the Tax Number 2 field, confirm it matches exactly the value noted in step 1. Correct if necessary.
   4. Save your changes.
3. Create a new document and verify the submission completes successfully in the eDocument Cockpit.
