3783341 - Inflation Management - Error 8Z842 "Area XX not defined as a revaluation area" during S/4HANA Migration – AFA Step (Initial Depreciation Calculation)

During the migration to SAP S/4HANA, the AFA step (Initial Depreciation Calculation) fails with one or both of the following error messages:

• 8Z842 – "Area XX not defined as a revaluation area"
• 8Z857 – "Revaluation keys not maintained"

The affected depreciation area (e.g., Area 01) is not configured as a revaluation area in customizing — a separate area (e.g., Area 06) is correctly designated for revaluation. Despite this, the system reports that Area 01 must be defined as a revaluation area or that revaluation keys are missing.
