3783362 - Moving an custom attribute of a type item between different items.xml files in SAP commerce cloud

Symptom

When you want to move your custom attribute from one items.xml file to another, and your situation meet the following criterias:

  • An custom attribute has been defined for an existing type item in one of your items.xml file.
  • The original items.xml is being cleaned up or removed while the attribute is still actively used in code.
  • Need to move the same attribute entry of the type to another items.xml file.
