Symptom
The standard application fields “state/city/zip” are missing in Legacy Applicant Workbench if they are only defined in the application template.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management
Reproducing the Issue
- Define the standard application fields “state/city/zip” only defined in the application template, not defining them in the candidate profile template.
- Open an application in the legacy applicant workbench.
- Observe the fields “state/city/zip” missing, even if the recruiter has the read permission.
- Switch to the latest workbench, these fields are visible as expected.
Cause
The behavior is confirmed as expected by the engineering team. Legacy Workbench renders standard address fields (state/city/zip) by reading the field definition from the Candidate Profile Template as the authoritative source. The Application Template definition alone is insufficient to trigger rendering in Legacy Workbench.
Resolution
Since the behavior is confirmed as expected, the workarounds are as following:
- Define the same fields in the candidate profile template as well, so that the fields will appear under the "More Information" section in the legacy applicant workbench, as described in KBA3224351 - Fields defined in both Job Application and Candidate Profile templates are displaying in More Information section only - Recruiting Management
Or
- Switch to the latest applicant workbench to view the fields.
