Symptom

Missing option to maintain fixed prices or periodical flat fees in a different currency than the project/billing currency in the billing tab of customer project.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open the Plan Customer Projects app.
  2. Navigate to any customer project.
  3. Go to the Billing tab and open Billing Items Details.
  4. Attempt to maintain a fixed price or periodic flat fee in a currency different from the project (billing) currency and observe there is no option to select a different currency.

Cause

The behavior is by design: the project currency defined at the project header is the leading currency for billing preparation. Billing items inherit the project currency, and maintaining fixed prices or periodic flat fees in a different currency is not supported due to integration with Event-Based Revenue Recognition and financial postings.

Resolution

  1. Acknowledge the current system behavior: billing item currency is inherited from the project header and cannot be changed per item.
  2. Maintain billing data in the project currency as required by the current design.
  3. If the business requires billing items in a different currency, submit an improvement request via the Customer Influence portal: refer to the link in the See also section.
  4. For guidance on submitting feature requests, refer to the related KBA in the See also section.
  5. No supported system workaround is available at this time.
