3783671 - Manage Purchase Requisitions: Missing Authorization when creating Purchase Requisition with same catalog across roles

• A user cannot create a purchase requisition in the Manage Purchase Requisitions app due to missing authorizations.
• Another user with a different business role, but with the same purchase requisition-related catalog, can create a purchase requisition.
• Error message: "Function not possible due to missing authorizations."

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Open the Manage Purchase Requisitions – Professional app.
2. With business role A, select Create and observe the error “Function not possible due to missing authorizations.”
3. With business role B, that has the same purchase-requisition-related catalog assignments, repeat the Create action and observe that creation is allowed.

• Required authorization for the purchase document type is missing because the business catalog SAP_MM_BC_PR_MANAGE_PC is not assigned to the affected business role.
• Inconsistent behavior occurs because another role inherits the needed authorization from other business catalogs, even though the proper catalog is not explicitly assigned.

Review the business roles assigned to the affected users and ensure that all required authorizations for Purchase Requisition processing are maintained.

Perform the following checks:

• Assign the required business catalogs, including:
  • SAP_MM_BC_PR_MANAGE_PC
  • SAP_MM_BC_PR_PROCESS_MC
  • SAP_MM_BC_PURCH_DOC_DSP_PC
• Verify that the appropriate purchaser business role (for example, BR_PURCHASER) is assigned where applicable.
• Ensure that the IAM app variant F2229_TRAN is maintained under IAM Apps for the affected business roles.
• Verify that the users have authorization for the relevant Purchase Requisition document type.
• If user authorization inconsistencies persist after role updates, recreate the business user using the Manage Workforce app and reassign the required business roles.
