• An onboarding task to assign a new buddy is assigned to a user who has been inactive since a prior date.
• The task is configured with a responsible group that includes the manager role and a dynamic group of HRBPs, but the inactive user is not listed in that dynamic group.
• No error messages are displayed.

 SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding

1. Start an onboarding process for a new hire.
2. Open the onboarding dashboard and locate the process instance.
3. Open the task “Assign a new buddy to new hires.”
4. Observe that the task is also assigned to an inactive user who is not a member of the configured dynamic HRBP group in the responsible group.

An obsolete or empty user entry existed in Onboarding > General Settings > Users, which the system still recognized and used for task assignment, resulting in assignment to an inactive user not present in the dynamic group.

1. Navigate to Onboarding > General Settings > Users.
2. Identify and remove any empty or duplicate user entries that may reference inactive users.
3. Retain only the valid, active user record for the person.
4. Review the responsible group configuration for the task to ensure it includes only the intended roles and dynamic groups, and that inactive users are not included.
5. Restart the onboarding process for the affected new hire or trigger a new test instance.
6. Verify that the “Assign a new buddy” task is now assigned only to users who are active and belong to the configured responsible group.
