Symptom

When scheduling a story report to SFTP, extra fields are visible in the scheduled file that are not visible in the table widget

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Run a Story Report online
  2. See that not all the fields are being used in a table widget
  3. Schedule the report to SFTP
  4. See that extra fields are appearing in the scheduled file that are not visible in the table widget

Cause

When scheduling a story export to SFTP, the schedule settings currently only allow selecting Data Source. Selecting Data Source pulls all columns defined in the data source, not just the ones shown in the table widget. That’s why extra fields are visible in the exported file.

Resolution

Because the only option currently for story schedules to SFTP is Data Source, the only way to exclude fields that aren’t in the table widget is to remove those fields from the data source as well.
