Symptom
Admins receive repeated automated emails about expired certificates from Work Zone. Notifications reference an expiring SAML trusted IDP certificate for a tenant that was already deleted. Error message observed when following links from the e-mail: “404 Not Found: Requested route does not exist.”
Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.
Environment
- SAP Build Work Zone Advanced Edition
- SAP SuccessFactors Work Zone
Cause
The tenant was decommissioned by deleting the subscription directly. The backend company/tenant record remained active, which continued to send automated certificate expiration notifications.
Resolution
- Verify in the BTP cockpit whether the Work Zone subscription was deleted.
- If the tenant is no longer needed and the subscription still exists, delete the SAP Build Work Zone subscription to perform formal offboarding.
- Note: this is irreversible and removes tenant data.
- If the subscription was already deleted but emails still arrive, create a support case for Work Zone (component LOD-SF-SWZ-AUT) requesting deactivation of the tenant/company record. Make sure you include the following details in the case creation:
- Attach the e-mail notification in .EML format.
- Provide Work Zone deleted instance details (URL and subaccount).
- Written approval for backend deactivation.
Note: Product Support - review internal memo.
