3784441 - Rebase fails with error "Field partner function is not allowed to be empty" after empty description in "Define functions for contact person"

• An error occurs during rebase: "Field Partner Function is not allowed to be empty."
• Rebase is blocked and cannot be closed due to a configuration error.
• The configuration error cannot be cleared because deletion ofthe wrong entry is not available.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Start a rebase to the parallel line (Change Business Configuration staging).
2. Observe that processing fails with the error "Field Partner Function is not allowed to be empty."

An empty entry exists in the "Define Functions for Contact Person" configuration. The Partner Function description is left empty, which is not allowed during rebase, and deletion of the entry is not available.

1. In the configuration activity "Define Functions for Contact Person," locate the empty entry that cannot be deleted.
2. Edit the entry and ensure no mandatory field is blank; specifically, replace any blank text (for example, the description) with a non-empty value such as "do not use."
3. Save the changes.
4. Transport the corrected configuration to the test tenant.
5. Run the rebase to the parallel line again.
6. Confirm that the rebase completes successfully.
