3784968 - How to change Person ID External - SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central

The business requirement is to modify the Person ID External assigned to an already active employee.

1. Go to Employee Profile
2. See the incorrect Person ID External

To update the Person ID External, please execute the following steps:

• Go to Import Employee Data
• Select Download Template
• Select an entity: Biographical Information
• In the template fields select only Person ID

In the template fill the user ID of the affected user and the new Person ID External that you'd like to assign.

1. Go back to Import Employee Data
2. Select an entity: Biographical Information
3. Choose your populated template file
4. Click to Import

This should update the Person ID External of the target user.

Note: this action is only possible if the user is a new hire and does not have other employments as per 2611940 - Employee Profiles Cannot Be Combined After Hire - Employee Central
