3785149 - Error "UNCAUGHT_EXCEPTION" during overhead allocation live run due to functional area mismatch - Fiori app Manage Allocation (F3338), Run Allocations (F3548)

Symptom

  • An "UNCAUGHT_EXCEPTION", "CX_FATAL_EXCEPTION" error occurs during a live run of an overhead allocation cycle (cost centers – overhead allocation, or margin analysis – overhead allocation) in the Manage Allocation (F3338) / Run Allocations (F3548) Fiori applications.
  • The issue is triggered by an inconsistency between the functional area (FAREA) stored on existing actual line items (derived from the G/L account / cost element master data at the time of posting) and the functional area currently maintained on the sender cost center master data.
