3785219 - How the requirement type of the sales order item is determined in S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition?

It is not clear how the requirement type of the sales order item is determined.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

The requirement type of the sales order item is determined following the below logic:

1. Note down the item category of the sales order item.
2. Check the corresponding entry of this item category in configuration activity 105120 - Determine Requirement Type by Item Category and MRP type.
   • If the "Src" indicator is 1, the requirement type maintained here will be used.
   • If the "Src" indicator is 0, go to step3.
     *Note that only for some of the item categories, the "Src" indicator can be changed here.
3. Check the material's planning strategy in the master data, under the MRP3 tab.
4. Check in this Table of Planning Strategy Assignments page, the requirement type corresponding to the planning strategy will be used.
