3785824 - Scope Item 4PG: Analytical Assignment Derivation on GR/IR for Historical Postings

• Goods receipt did not assign the analytical object of the purchase order (for example, cost center or WBS) to the GR/IR posting.
• After activating Organizational Flexibility in Financial Accounting (4PG), the assignment on GR/IR became correct for new postings.
• There is a need to update the analytical assignment for previously posted goods receipts.
• Reversing the postings is not possible because logistical periods are closed.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Post a goods receipt for a purchase order with an analytical assignment (for example, cost center or WBS) before activating 4PG.
2. Check the GR/IR posting and observe that the analytical object is not assigned.
3. Activate Organizational Flexibility in Financial Accounting (4PG) and post a new goods receipt.
4. Check the GR/IR posting for the new receipt and observe that the analytical object is assigned correctly.
5. Attempt to correct the historical GR/IR postings without reversal; note that reversal is not possible due to closed logistical periods.

1. Note that changes to historical documents beyond the documented 4PG scenarios are not supported; there is no system-supported tool to retroactively update analytical assignments on past GR/IR postings when reversal/reposting is not possible due to closed periods.
2. It is the current SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud behaviour.
