3786000 - Getting an error while completing Onboarding for Global assignment

While completing the Onboarding process for a candidate with a Global Assignment, the following error message is displayed:

“You cannot convert a global assignment to a concurrent employment before the global assignment ends.”

The error occurs when the user attempts to continue the Provide Personal Data step from the Employee Switcher in the Onboarding checklist.

SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding

1. Create or maintain a Global Assignment for the affected employee.
2. Enter a future start date and a future planned end date for the Global Assignment.
3. Initiate the Onboarding process for the affected candidate.
4. Open the candidate’s Provide Personal Data step using the Employee Switcher.
5. Click Continue in the Onboarding checklist.
6. Observe that the following error is displayed:  “You cannot convert a global assignment to a concurrent employment before the global assignment ends.”

The issue occurs when the End Global Assignment Automatically setting is configured as Yes in the Global Assignment Configuration object.

To resolve the issue, follow these steps:

1. Navigate to Admin Center.
2. Open Manage Data.
3. Search for and select Global Assignment Configuration.
4. Change the End Global Assignment Automatically setting from Yes to No.
5. Save the changes.
6. Retry the affected Onboarding process and verify whether the issue is resolved.
