3786174 - Mobile Learning – Mobile BTP Authentication and SAP Validated Learning

Symptom

The production version of the iOS native mobile app for SAP SuccessFactors Validated Learning (VSaaS) does not currently support BTP Mobile Authentication Services. If Authentication with BTP has been enabled by the Admin, mobile users will not be able to access the dedicated Validated Learning app, only the main SuccessFactors app

Cause

Optional support for BTP Mobile Authentication was recently introduced in support of enhancements to non-Learning features such as Joule and ESM. Because Validated Learning app features are only updated once each year, in October, this new functionality will not be added to the native mobile Learning apps until that time.

Resolution

If your organization considers the Validated Learning mobile app for iOS to be an operational requirement, it is recommended that you do not migrate to BTP Mobile Authentication until the annual update in October.
If you choose to enable BTP Mobile Authentication, your VSaaS users will need to access learning features through desktop or mobile web browsers, until October.
Both the iOS and Android Preview variants of the Validated Learning apps now support this functionality as of June 2026, because they include the upcoming 2026 VSaaS features for testing.
While the current version of the main SuccessFactors mobile app supports BTP Mobile Authentication, the standard learning features within it are blocked for VSaaS users, to respect your organization’s compliance requirements. Only non-learning features such as the main Home Page, Time Tracking, Org Chart, etc. are available to VSaaS users who use these apps.
