3786331 - Direct Reports being moved to manager’s manager - Employee Central

Direct reports are reporting to the manager’s manager even when there is an incumbent in the higher-level position.

1. Assign a manager to a position.
2. Direct reports are initially assigned to the new incumbent as expected.
3. Run the Position Management Daily Hierarchy Adaptation job.
4. Direct reports are moved to report to the manager’s manager instead of the intended manager.

The intended manager is treated by the system as an onboardee due to a lingering OnboardingInfo record; the hierarchy adaptation excludes onboardees from acting as managers and reassigns their direct reports to the next higher-level manager.

1. Verify whether the intended manager has an active OnboardingInfo record (for example via Manage Data > OnboardingInfo).
2. If onboarding is complete but the OnboardingInfo record still exists, remove that record so the user is no longer treated as an onboardee.
3. If the issue persists, open a ticket with SAP Support under component LOD-SF-OBX-ADM.
