3786358 - Actual Costs Missing in Project Costs Report Overview (F2513) for Settled Maintenance Order Costs - SAP S/4HANA Public Edition

Actual costs visible in financial accounting reports are not fully reflected in the Project Costs Report Overview (F2513) application.

Users observe that:

• Multiple actual cost postings exist against a project or WBS element.
• Some costs are visible in the Display Line Items in General Ledger application.
• Only a subset of those costs is displayed in Project Costs Report Overview (F2513).
• As a result, the total actual cost shown in the project report is lower than the value shown in financial postings.

The financial statement hierarchy and semantic tag assignments were reviewed and confirmed to be correctly maintained.
Verification included:

• Financial Statement Version (FSV) assignment
• Relevant G/L account mappings
• Semantic tag assignment for actual costs
• Successful activation of the hierarchy configuration

No configuration inconsistencies were identified.

This behavior is a known limitation of the Project Costs Report Overview (F2513) application.
The application displays costs originating from maintenance orders that are directly account-assigned to a project or WBS element.
When costs are settled from maintenance orders that do not have a direct project/WBS account assignment, those settled costs are currently not included in the cost aggregation logic used by the Project Costs Report Overview application.
Consequently, actual cost values visible in financial postings may not be displayed in the Project Costs Report Overview.

No configuration correction is required.
The observed behavior is consistent with the current application design and reporting scope of Project Costs Report Overview (F2513).
SAP has acknowledged this as a product limitation. The behavior may change in a future release, but no specific timeline is currently available.

Workaround

To analyze the complete actual cost picture, including costs that are not currently displayed in F2513, use the following applications:

P&L Plan/Actual (F1710)

Use this application to:

• Review planned versus actual costs.
• Analyze project-related costs that may not appear in F2513.
• Determine available budget by comparing planned costs with actual costs.

P&L Actuals (F0958)

Use this application to:

• Review complete actual cost postings.
• Validate costs recorded in financial accounting reports.

These applications provide visibility into costs that are not currently included in the Project Costs Report Overview.
