Symptom
Users are unable to delete addresses created using Address Type "User Entry" in the Manage Purchase Requisitions app (F1639A). These addresses remain stored in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition and cannot be removed using standard application functionality.
Environment
SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
Cause
Addresses created using Address Type "User Entry" are stored by the system as standalone reference addresses with a unique Address Number. These addresses are not associated with Supplier or Customer Business Partner master data. The system retains these reference addresses for potential reuse in future business processes, and this behavior is by design. Therefore, such addresses cannot be deleted through standard SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition applications.
Resolution
- Currently, there is no standard functionality available in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition to delete addresses created with Address Type "User Entry".
- Addresses created using Address Type "User Entry" are stored as reference addresses and are retained by the system by design.
- These addresses are maintained independently from Supplier or Customer Business Partner master data and cannot be deleted through standard applications, including Manage Purchase Requisitions (F1639A).
- Users should verify and maintain the correct address details before creating a Purchase Requisition to avoid creating unnecessary User Entry addresses.
- Users can reuse existing reference addresses when the same address information is required instead of creating new User Entry addresses.
- Existing User Entry addresses will remain in the system and cannot be removed using standard SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition functionality.
