3786865 - Browse all library does not prioritize items with upcoming classes

Symptom

  • In the “Browse All” library view, items with upcoming classes are not shown at the top when no filters are applied.
  • The first result can be an item with no classes even though other items have upcoming classes.
  • Results appear sorted by Item ID in descending order.
  • The issue is consistently reproducible and affects all users in the environment tested.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Learning

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Access the LMS as a user who has access to a library containing items with and without scheduled classes.
  2. From Learning Home, select Browse Library > Browse All.
  3. Observe that items with upcoming classes are not prioritized at the top; results appear sorted by Item ID descending.

Cause

This is an intentional performance design. When browsing all items without any filter, the system applies an “early termination” mechanism to ensure response time, returning only the first 30,000 documents. If items with upcoming classes are not within those 30,000 documents, they are not included in the returned results.

Resolution

This is expected behavior by design; no product defect is involved.
