3786906 - Maintenance Technician can Post Goods Issue and Returns in Perform Maintenance Jobs without Inventory Management Catalogs assigned in SAP S/4 HANA Cloud Public Edition

A maintenance technician using the Fiori app Perform Maintenance Jobs can post material consumption (goods issue) and returns. This occurs even when the user does not have any Inventory Management (MM) business catalogs assigned.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Assign a user the maintenance technician role without any Inventory Management (MM) business catalogs.
2. Use a role that is a copy of SAP_BR_MAINTENANCE_TECHNICIAN without MM access.
3. Ensure the Backflush indicator is not active in the material, work center, or operation.
4. In the Fiori app Perform Maintenance Jobs, post material consumption (goods issue) and returns.
5. Observe that postings succeed despite movement type control restrictions (261 and 262).

In the Fiori app Perform Maintenance Jobs, maintenance technicians can post material consumption and returns without direct inventory management authorization due to how roles, business catalogs, and the app logic are designed in S/4HANA Cloud.

This behavior is by design in S/4HANA Public Cloud.

Maintenance technicians can post goods issue (261) and returns (262) from the Perform Maintenance Jobs app without Inventory Management business catalogs; actions are limited to the maintenance order context and supported by embedded authorizations in the maintenance role.

If needed for app usage, ensure the maintenance role includes relevant EAM business catalogs (for example: SAP_EAM_BC_MP_ORD_MNG_PC and SAP_EAM_BC_ORDCONF_MNG_PC).
