3786930 - Group Financial Statements Review Booklet shows no data for Profit & Loss by Function of Expense

In the Group Financial Statements Review Booklet app, the Profit & Loss (Function of Expense) section does not display any reporting items or amounts.

The Profit & Loss (Nature of Expense) section may display data correctly.

Relevant consolidation data can be found in the regular Group Data Analysis app.

When executing Group Data Analysis – With Reporting Rules, the following message may be displayed: "Result set for query 2CCSRPT40Q is empty"

The reporting item hierarchy and reporting rule variant are available and can be selected.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Open the Group Financial Statements Review Booklet app.
2. Enter consolidation details (group, fiscal year, period, version) and start the query.
3. Select Profit & Loss (Function of Expense).
4. Enter filter and value details (for example, via Page Filters).
5. Observe that the result is empty or that no data can be seen.

The reporting rules maintained for the selected combination of:

• Consolidation chart of accounts
• Reporting item hierarchy
• Reporting rule variant

have not been replicated, or their runtime replication is no longer current.

Although the rules are visible in the Define Reporting Rules app, the analytical applications do not consume the latest rule definition until the reporting rules are replicated.

To resolve this issue, please follow the steps below:

1. Open Define Reporting Rules app.
2. Select the relevant:
   • Consolidation chart of accounts
   • Reporting item hierarchy
   • Reporting rule variant
3. Confirm that the reporting rules include FS items and other selection criteria for which consolidation data exists.
4. Choose Replicate Reporting Rules button.
5. Confirm that replication completes successfully.
6. Close and reopen Group Data Analysis – With Reporting Rules.
7. Execute the query again.
8. Retest the Profit & Loss (Function of Expense) section in the Group Financial Statements Review Booklet.

After successful replication, the analytical query and the Review Booklet should return the reporting-rule results.

Additional Information

Before replication, verify that:

• The reporting item hierarchy is active.
• The reporting rule variant contains the relevant FS-item selections.
• The source data satisfies all rule criteria, including any subitem, document type, consolidation unit, or other restrictions.
• The reporting rule version is correctly assigned to the consolidation version for the relevant fiscal year and period.
