3787086 - Query Browser preview changed to Multidimensional Analysis (MDA) and bookmarks access

Symptom

As per Query Browser - Preview of Queries Using Multidimensional Reports | SAP Help Portal, the Query Browser app has been enhanced to support the Multidimensional Analysis (MDA) preview.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

Open the Query Browser app.
Search for a custom analytical query created with Custom Analytical Queries app.
Click on "Open for Analysis"
Observe that the preview UI has changed and the option to access previously saved bookmarks is not available.

Cause

The Query Browser preview was enhanced to use the successor Multidimensional Analysis (MDA) framework, where personalization/bookmarks in the preview are not supported.

Resolution

If a dedicated query app (Web Dynpro Grid) already exists for the query, assign the corresponding business catalog to the user. Bookmarks saved for that app should remain available when the query is opened via the app.
If no query app exists for the query, create a query app and expose it via a custom catalog extension, then assign the catalog to the relevant users to enable access to bookmarks through the app. Please refer to View Browser | SAP Help Portal > Create/Edit/Delete Application
For custom queries created with the legacy Custom Analytical Queries app, migrate them to the new Custom Analytical Queries and Services app by following the documented migration path. Please refer to How Migration Works: Overview | SAP Help Portal

Use the Multidimensional Analysis preview for exploration; do not rely on preview for bookmarks/personalization, as these are not supported in the Multidimensional Analysis preview.
