3787110 - Employee cannot access their inactive profile and receives the error "You don't have permission to access the profile content"

After an employee becomes inactive (for example, following termination), they are unable to access their own Employee Profile.

When the employee attempts to open their inactive profile, the following error is displayed:

"You don't have permission to access the profile content."

The issue occurs when the employee is trying to access only their own inactive profile and not the profile of any other inactive user.

1. An employee becomes inactive (for example, after termination).
2. The inactive employee logs in to the system.
3. The employee attempts to access their own inactive Employee Profile.
4. The following error message is displayed:
5. "You don't have permission to access the profile content."
6. The employee is unable to view their own inactive profile.

If the role assigned to the inactive user does not include:

1. User Search permission, and
2. Include Inactive Employees in the search permission,

the system cannot resolve access to the inactive profile and displays the permission error.

To allow inactive users to access only their own inactive profile:

1. Assign a role to inactive users.
2. Configure the role with:
3. User Permissions → User Search
4. User Permissions → Include Inactive Employees in the search 
5. Set the Target Population of the role to The granted users themselves.

With this configuration:

• Inactive users can access only their own inactive profile.
• They cannot search for or access other inactive users.
• Restricting the target population to The granted users themselves ensures that granting these permissions does not provide visibility to other inactive users.
