Symptom

In SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition, in journal entry created by journal entry post API, VAT registration number is missing in the line item.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Post a journal entry via interface/API providing the reporting country/region for the partner line item.
  2. Open the posted journal entry and observe that the partner line item has an empty VAT registration number.

Cause

The VAT registration number was not maintained for the affected business partner, so it was not derived to the partner line item.

Resolution

In business partner master data, maintain corresponding VAT registration number and post again.
