3787228 - New Consolidation monitor F7271 shows "success" in log but "error" in task log for failed validation

In the Consolidation Monitor - F7271 application, the Last Log section shows Status: "Success" for a validation task.

When opening the task details, the Task Log shows Log Status: "Error".

No error code is displayed in the Last Log, while the Task Log reflects failed validation.

Product: SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Open the Consolidation Monitor - F7271 application.
2. Filter for your relevant Consolidation Chart of Accounts, Version, Consolidation Group, Task, and Process Period.
3. In the task details, observe that the Last Log section shows Status: "Success".
4. Open the detailed Task Log and observe that the Log Status shows "Error".

The two status fields report different aspects:

the Last Log Status indicates the background job execution result (technical run completed successfully),

while the Task Log Status reflects the validation outcome of the rule set (business validation failed). Therefore, Last Log can be "Success" even when the Task Log shows "Error".

1. Interpret the Last Log Status as the background job execution result only. "Success" here means the job ran and finished without technical errors.
2. Use the Task Log Status to assess the validation outcome. "Error" indicates at least one validation rule failed.
3. Review the failed validation messages in the Task Log, correct the underlying data or rules as needed, and run the validation task again.
