3787455 - Error ME719 "Item category 0 does not exist" when Creating Purchase Order in German (DE) Language

• When creating a Purchase Order using the German (DE) logon language in the Create Purchase Order - Advanced app, the following error is displayed immediately
• ME719 - Positionstyp 0 ist nicht vorhanden (Bitte korrigieren)
  (Item category 0 does not exist (please correct))
• The Purchase Order cannot be created.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Log on to SAP S/4HANA Cloud using German (DE) as the logon language.
2. Open the Create Purchase Order - Advanced app.
3. Create a new Purchase Order.
4. Observe that error ME719 is raised immediately.

The German (DE) language is not activated in the customer tenant.

Since DE is not activated, the corresponding configuration texts and entries for the Purchasing document item category (SSCUI 102909 / table T163Y) are not available in German, resulting in error ME719.

The issue occurs because the required language-specific configuration is not available in the system.

Report a case to SAP and request the SAP Cloud Operations team (component: XX-S4C-OPR-SRV) to assist with the initial language configuration. Once the required language (for example, DE) is activated and the corresponding configuration is made available, the Purchase Order can be created without encountering error ME719.
