3787466 - Publication is failing for story with Live datasphere connection in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

Symptom

The scheduled publication fails for stories based on Live connection to Datasphere.

Error: "The publication failed due an error", "The publication could not be delivered because the publication generation was unsuccessful".

Reproducing the Issue

Open a story based on a live connection to SAP Datasphere (direct connection).
Create a schedule publication to distribute the story output (for example, to Microsoft Excel).
Run the schedule; it fails with the message: "The publication failed due an error".

Cause

The story used a direct SAP Datasphere live connection, which is not supported for Schedule Publication; Unified Customer Landscape (UCL) and a tunnel connection are required.

Resolution

Ensure that SAP Analytics Cloud and SAP Datasphere tenants are configured in Unified Customer Landscape (UCL). Refer to: Unified Customer Landscape (UCL) for SAC and Datasphere.
Create a tunnel live data connection from SAP Analytics Cloud to SAP Datasphere. Refer to: Live Data Connections to SAP Datasphere.
Rebuild the story on, or repoint the story to, the Datasphere tunnel connection instead of the direct live connection.
Schedule the publication again. Refer to: Schedule a SAC story based on SAP Datasphere live connection and About publication to Microsoft Excel.
