3787573 - Token not Resolving in Document Generation Email for CC-Only Hire Date Correction Workflow

• Token-mapped in Document Generation template content is not printed in the custom email sent from a CC-only workflow initiated by Hire Date Correction.

1. Open Hire Date Correction and select Create New.
2. Configure a Document Generation template for the notification.
3. Map tokens
4. Associate the template with a CC-only workflow.
5. Initiate a Hire Date Correction workflow (Manage Data → Create New → Hire Date Correction).
6. Observe the workflow email notification: the token is blank/not printed.

• Hire Date Correction is handled as a new hire workflow. In new/rehire workflows, custom token resolution (including direct, future-direct, and rule mappings) does not apply because the subjectUserID is not sent to Document Generation. (Need to use the Reference + Pending Data mapping) See 3325400 - Hire Date Correction Tool - Subject User Behaviour 
• However The Reference + Pending Data mapping approach is not supported for CC-only workflows, so it cannot be used to populate values in CC-only notifications for HDC.

• Expected Behaviour: In Hire Date Correction like in New Hire Workflow context, custom tokens will not resolve in workflow emails because the subject user context is not provided to Document Generation.
  • Do not rely on Reference + Pending Data for CC-only workflows; this mapping type is not supported for CC-only recipients and will result in blank values.
  • If the information must be communicated, consider alternatives:
    • 1. Generate the document via Generate Document outside the HDC workflow email, after the user has active data.
    • 2. Use approval type workflow where token resolution is supported with Reference + Pending Data mapping
    • If a change to the current product behaviour is required, submit an enhancement request (refer to the link in See also).
