• During purchase requisition creation in the My Purchase Requisition app, a delivery address with an end-of-validity date in the past remains available for selection.
• The purchase requisition can be created without any error.
• In the Maintain Business Partner Master Data app, the same delivery address is shown as outdated/expired.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Ensure a business partner delivery address exists with a validity end date in the past.
2. Open the My Purchase Requisition app and start creating a purchase requisition.
3. In the delivery address selection, observe that the expired address is still available for selection.
4. Complete and save the purchase requisition; it is created without any error.
5. In the Manage Business Partner Master Data app, verify that the delivery address shows an end-of-validity date in the past.

This is standard system behavior, confirmed by internal replication.

The address number (ADRNR) search help used in this app queries the address master data (ADRC) linked to the Business Partner and does not apply a filter based on the time-dependent address usage validity period. The validity period governs which address is used for automatic/default address determination (e.g., when the system proposes a delivery address without manual user input) - it is not a hard restriction on which addresses can be manually selected via this generic search help.

In other words:

• Automatic address determination respects the validity period and will not default to an expired address.
• Manual selection via F4 search help does not filter by validity, as the underlying address record (ADRC) itself remains valid data - only its usage assignment validity has lapsed. The search help is not designed to restrict manual selection based on this usage validity.
