Symptom
Required fields do not have field validation messages in the Reimagined Candidate Experience compared to the legacy career site.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting
Reproducing the Issue
- Open the new Candidate Experience (CX) application flow (candidate wizard/apply page).
- Leave one or more required fields blank and attempt to proceed or submit.
- Observe that no inline validation message appears on page load; the message displays only after focusing or interacting with the specific field.
Resolution
Engineering team have confirmed that this is the expected behavior in the new Candidate Experience.
The legacy application displayed all validation messages upfront, whereas the new Apply page uses the UI5 Web Components, which behave differently.
With the current web component behavior, inline validation messages are displayed only when the user focuses on or interacts with the corresponding input field.
They are not shown automatically when the page loads, so this behavior is expected in the new experience and aligns with the standard behavior of the web components.
